No, The ranch is not typically open year-round. However, the Douglas Lake Retreat is conditionally available upon request.

Bull River Guest Ranch is located in southeastern British Columbia, surrounded by mountain landscape and adjacent to thousands of acres of crown land.
What is the road access like nearing the ranch?
The final 16.5km of road, leading to the ranch, is gravel. Though well maintained, you can expect a bumpy ride.4-wheel-drive is not a requirement and is suitable for passenger cars. You can expect seasonal delays during peak logging time, so please plan accordingly.
Does Bull River Guest Ranch have a restaurant on site or store?
No BRGR does not have a store or restaurant on site. Please bring everything you need for your it stay regarding food and liquor
How far is the ranch from local amenities?
The ranch is located 45 minutes from both Cranbrook and Fernie. That is the nearest towns and grocery stores
What types of accommodations are available?
Guests can choose from private log cabins, upper-level suites, lower-level bunkhouse rooms, and the nearby Douglas Lake Retreat.
How many guests can stay on the ranch?
The ranch accommodates up to 67 overnight guests across all accommodations. IF you need additional options for larger groups, contact us
Is Wi-Fi available?
Wi-Fi is available in and around the lodge and reception area. Due to the rural location, service may be limited in other areas of the property.
Are pets allowed?
Please contact the ranch directly regarding pets, as policies may vary depending on the type of stay.

Guests have access to the Bull River Lodge, hot tub, sauna, outdoor grill, playground, barn animals & horses, and expansive outdoor areas including trails and open space.
Is the ranch suitable for families?
Yes. The ranch offers family-friendly amenities including a playground and open outdoor space for recreation.
What outdoor activities are available?
Guests can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, exploring nearby trails, and seasonal activities such as swimming at Mirror Lake or snow-based recreation in winter.
Is the ranch a working property?
Yes. Bull River Guest Ranch remains a working ranch, with seasonal hay production and active use of the land.
What should we bring for our stay?
Guests should bring their own food and beverages, along with clothing appropriate for the season and any outdoor gear they wish to use. The nearest town is about 45min away and the ranch does not carry provisions in our giftshop.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Extended times may be available depending on occupancy.
Is smoking permitted?
