Our working ranch offers an authentic setting for any occasion |
Homestead History 1897The ranch's early history dates back to 1897, when George Pickering pre-empted the property, drawn by its expansive natural hay meadows. Early accounts reflect the strong personalities of frontier life, including Pickering and Bill Douglas, who would later acquire the ranch. In 1948, the property was purchased by Bert and June Gauer, who stewarded the land for nearly three decades.
|
The Ranch TodayToday, the ranch remains a working landscape, where hay is still harvested seasonally and daily operations continue as part of its living heritage. Being a working ranch is an important part of how we maintain our roots and preserve the authenticity of your stay. While these traditions continue, guest spaces are thoughtfully set apart, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere of a true ranch while experiencing a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Guest Reviews
Cozy rooms and amazing views. Lots of fun games on the site like horseshoes and lawn bowling. Great way to unplug. Loved the hot tub (two of them!) And sauna.
